Versatile back Chris Paterson is set to miss the rest of the Six Nations with kidney damage as Scotland look to avoid the Six Nations Wooden Spoon (9/4 To Finish Bottom at Betfred).

The Edinburgh star was forced off during Saturday’s defeat to Wales at the Millennium Stadium to put a downer on his 100th cap.

Paterson is joined on the sidelines by winger Thom Evans who needed neck surgery after also suffering an injury during the game.

Wales overturned a 24-14 deficit with just three minutes left to play as Scotland paid the price for the sin-binnings of Scott Lawson and Phil Godman.

Scotland started the Six Nations with a home defeat to France.
