Keith Earls will take the place of Brian O’Driscoll in the centres as Ireland kick off their Six Nations campaign against Wales on Sunday.

All the matches from the Six Nations are shown live on the BBC.

Earls has been given the nod to partner Gordon D’Arcy in the centres in place of injured captain O’Driscoll.

Jonathan Sexton will start the game at fly-half instead of the popular Ronan O’Gara, while Conor Murpjy will partner him at scrum-half.

The pack will be the same one that suffered a heartbreaking defeat against the Welsh in the World Cup quarter-finals last year with Paul O‘Connell leading the team out.

Wales have been rocked with the news that hooker Matthew Rees will miss the game against Ireland after picking up a calf strain. Huw Bennett now looks certain to start in his place.

Wales coach Warren Gatland has delayed naming his team as he assesses injuries to Jamie Roberts, Rhys Priestland and Dan Lydiate, while he is already without prop Gethin Jenkins and the first-choice lock pairing of Alun Wyn Jones and Luke Charteris.

Ireland are odds-on favourites to open up their RBS Six Nations campaign with a victory when they take on Wales.

The Irish have true fighting spirit and will be looking to put on a show in front of their own fans and will also look for a measure of revenge after Wales knocked them out of the World Cup at the quarter-final stage.

Ireland are odds-on favourites and can be backed at 4/9 with BetVictor to win the game, while Wales are on offer at 6/4 with Stan James.

The handicap betting sees Wales with a five point start and can be backed at 10/11 with BetFred, while Ireland -3 is even money with Bet365.

Scoring in front of your home fans in the Six Nations must be an amazing feeling and Irish duo Tommy Bowe and Keith Earls are on offer at 9/1 and 14/1 respectively with Boylesport.

Wales are not short of fire power themselves and George North can be backed at 10/1 with Paddy Power, while Leigh Halfpenny can score from anywhere on the park and he is on offer at 11/1.

Ireland play host to Wales in the Six Nations at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, February 5 at 1500 GMT.
