Bookies cannot split Ireland and England in Six Nations

Bookmaker William Hill are struggling to split Ireland and England ahead of Sunday’s huge Six Nations clash.

On paper the Ireland v England clash is a possible Six Nations decider but in a Lions year the Six Nations trophy is not the only thing that could be decided at the weekend.

Ireland and England are both offered at 20/21 to win on Super Sunday with the tie 18/1 with William Hill.

After a man of the match performance against Wales, Brian O’Driscoll  has shot to the top of the betting for who will Captain the Lions at 15/8, but England Captain Chris Robshaw will fancy his chances and is the 9/4 second favourite to take on the Captain’s armband.

Ireland’s Jonathan Sexton was seen as a certainty to start at ten but Owen Farrell continues to impress and he is now 4/1 to take to the field ahead of John Sexton in the first test.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams told Bettingpro.com: “England have been heavily backed to win the Six Nations, so we are almost certainly Ireland supporters for the weekend!”
