France will hand a debut to Wesley Fofana on Saturday when they take on Italy in their opening Six Nations clash in Paris.

All Six Nations matches are being shown live on the BBC.

The Clermont Auvergne centre will line up alongside his club captain Aurelien Rougerie, while Julien Malzieu returns to the starting line-up on the left wing.

Loosehead prop Vincent Debaty has been selected to start ahead of World Cup finalist Jean-Baptiste Poux, while Louis Picamoles gets the number eight jersey in place of Imanol Harinordoquy.

Italy boss Jaques Brunel is also handing a debut to a new player with Giovanbattista Venditti getting a starting spot on the wing.

Treviso pair Kris Burton and Edoardo Gori will form a new half-back pairing, while team-mates Alberto Sgarbi and Tommaso Benvenuti will start in the centres.

Tobias Botes should also make his debut off the bench where he is named among the replacements alongside 72-cap centre Gonzalo Camacho.

France are the overwhelming favourites to win this clash and get their campaign off to a dream start. They can be backed at 1/40 odds-on with Bet365, while Italy are on offer at 18/1 with Sportingbet. The draw is available at 50/1 with BetVictor.

Handicap betting is very popular in the Six Nations and Italy have been handed a 20 point start in that market and can be backed at even money with BetVictor, while France -21 are on offer at 10/11 with Paddy Power.

On paper Italy have no chance of picking up the win but stranger things have happened. You can get odds of 10/1 that Italy are in front at the break with France taking the points at the final hooter, while a France double at half-time and full-time is on offer at 1/6 with Blue Square.
