Boat Race Latest – Will Oxford or Cambridge Sink?

Grey skies could spell trouble for University rowers

Bad weather could cause boats to capsize

With rain expected at this year’s Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge, WilliamHill have been forced to cut the price of one of the teams’ boats sinking from 33/1 to 16/1.

Choppy conditions could make the competition difficult for the rowers, and Hills have increased the odds on a new record time being set from 8/1 to 16/1.

Oxford are strong favourites to beat their old rivals, at 1/3, whilst Cambridge can be backed at 7/4 to win on Saturday.

Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams told Bettingpro:

"If either boat sinks it is going to cost us a minimum of £100,000, so we are hoping for clear skies come Saturday,"
