2009 Boat Race Odds

- 19 Mar 2009

The 2008 Xchanging University Boat Race was William Hill's worst result in rowing betting history.  All the money was for Oxford who will start the red hot favourites this year to retain their title at 4/11 with Cambridge offered at 2/1.

"Oxford are a largely untested team but our extremely knowledgeable punters fancy them not just to win but to win in a record time with William Hill cutting the price from 12/1 to 8/1 for the record (currently 16m 9s) to be broken.  Oxford's quote of 4/11 is the shortest price on weigh-in day and we can report two four figure bets for them already today", said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

For pessimistic punters Hills are 33/1 that either or both boat sink on the big day.
