Dermot Weld will wait until Friday morning to make a decision on whether his stable-star Casual Conquest will take on Sea The Stars and Mastercraftsman in next week’s Juddmonte International or remain at home for a weekend engagement.

The Tattersalls Gold Cup winner is entered for the Royal Whip Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday, but is also entered for the Group 1 at the Knavesmire next Tuesday.

After his third in the Meld Stakes last time out, Weld is keen to get him back on the winning trail ahead of his intended tilt at l’Arc de Triomphe, but the weather will play a key part in where the son of Hernando will go.

"He's in the Royal Whip at the Curragh on Sunday and he's also in the Juddmonte International, so we'll have to make up our minds tomorrow which way we're going with the horse," Dermot Weld explained.

"There is no definite decision yet and we'll wait to see what the weather does over the next 24 hours before we decide what to do.

"He was a little bit disappointing at Leopardstown last time but he has been very consistent. He won a Group One on his previous start and was then off for a nice break.

"He's a huge horse and probably needed the run a little bit more than I thought last time. He also had 10 stone on his back."

Casual Conquest is currently available to back at 38.00 for the race on Betfair, with Sea The Stars the 1.78 favourite.
