Wednesday Carlisle Placepot

Related Articles
Carlisle present six races on Wednesday afternoon with the going at the Cumbrian track forecast as ‘Soft’. The first event is due off at 2.30.

Race 1 (Carlisle 2.30) – Masai King’s debut fourth at York and New Rich’s recent third at Pontefract are both fair efforts in the context of this maiden and they should get us safely off to a good start.

Race 2 (Carlisle 3.00) – Chester Aristocrat put it together nicely to score last time out and Eric Alston’s charge should go close in his repeat bid. Another with a chance in an open contest is the lightly-raced Commanche.

Race 3 (Carlisle 3.30) – Samarkand looked unlucky-in-running last time and Sir Mark Prescott’s young stayer has a chance to make amends today. We rate him a banker selection.

Race 4 (Carlisle 4.00) – Naburn is interesting at this trip and will handle the ground while Call of Duty is another with conditions in his favour.

Race 5 (Carlisle 4.30) – Michael Dods’ Odyssey is in good form at the moment and will go as well as any in this field on the prevailing ground. In case things go awry though we also suggest including Frosty Berry.

Race 6 (Carlisle 5.00) – Top weight Prophecy and Mark Johnston’s Raheeba are our two choices in a very trappy five-runner finale.

Suggested Carlisle Placepot perm – 2×2x1×2x2×2 = 32 bets.
