Record-breaking super-stayer Yeats will face seven rivals when he bids for more Group 1 success in Saturday's Irish Field St Leger at the Curragh.

Aidan O'Brien's eight-year-old was responsible for creating history when he landed a fourth Ascot Gold Cup in June, but he has been nowhere near as successful in this race over the last few years.

He has only once won the one-mile-six-furlong contest, in 2007, and has been beaten on two other occasions when sent off a very short priced favourite.

Dermot Weld's Melbourne Cup fancy Profound Beauty will be one of the horses trying to stop Ballyodyle’s stable star, along with Godolphin's Goodwood Cup victor Schiaparelli.

British interest is also represented by the Roger Charlton-trained Clowance and Michael Jarvis' All The Aces.

O'Brien also runs Moon Indigo, who looks likely to settle for pace-making duties while John Oxx fields Alandi, the chosen mount of Mick Kinane.

Bashkirov completes the field.
