There are seven races at Ripon on Tuesday afternoon, the first of which is due off at 2.00. The advance going is forecast ‘Good to Soft’.

Race 1 (Ripon 2.00) – Auto Mac and Future Wonder are the picks on figures for a moderate selling event that opens the card. We’re hopeful they’ll prove good enough to see us through to the second leg.

Race 2 (Ripon 2.30) – Balinka has twice previously run well at this track and in an ordinary maiden appears to have a clear chance. We rate Mel Brittain’s charge a banker selection.

Race 3 (Ripon 3.05) – Both Tatislu and Lady of the House appear to have been crying out for this step up to six furlongs. Now’s there chance to show what they can do.

Race 4 (Ripon 3.40) – With rain in the air the ground may well ease which should suit Girl At The Sands, who won well on Fibresand at Southwell recently. Also suggested is Richard Whitaker’s Tumblewind, who is definitely going the right way.

Race 5 (Ripon 4.15) – Anjaz has an obvious chance after his fourth in a hot Haydock handicap last time but we also include Mick Easterby’s Barren Brook, who has fallen to a very attractive handicap on the best of last season’s form.

Race 6 (Ripon 4.45) – Rex Romanorum bolted in at Pontefract last time and has bright prospects of following up. In case he fails to run to form we also suggest adding the ultra-consistent Hayek to the perm.
