Tuesday January 25

There is jumping at Leicester and Sedgefield in Britain and Navan in Ireland on Tuesday, to go with seven races on the fibresand at Southwell.

Wednesday January 26

Huntingdon, Musselburgh and Limerick are the venues for Wednesday's jumping, while it's Lingfield in the afternoon and Kempton in the evening so far as the all-weather is concerned.

Thursday January 27

They go over jumps at Ffos Las and Warwick and on the Flat at Kempton and Southwell in Britain on Thursday, while there is also jumping in Ireland, where Thurles hosts two graded races.

Friday January 28

Doncaster and Fontwell both stages NH fixtures on Friday, while it's Lingfield and Wolverhampton for all-weather fans.

Saturday January 29

Saturday is Festival Trials day at Cheltenham, and there are sure to be plenty of pointers for the big one in March. The Grade 2 Argento Chase (Cotswold) is nominally a Gold Cup trial, though it hasn't proved much of a guide to that race in recent years, with Looks Like Trouble in 2000 the most recent horse to win both in the same season. The Cleeve Hurdle has been a better guide for its equivalent race at the Festival, both Inglis Drever and Big Buck's having followed up wins in the Cleeve with World Hurdle success in recent seasons. The fixture also includes the Triumph Hurdle Trial, Classic Novices' Chase and a handful of ultra-competitive handicaps.

There is also high-class jumping in the North of England where Doncaster stages one of its top NH meetings of the season, the feature event there being the valuable Sky Bet Chase, a handicap run over three miles. The day's other two fixtures take place over jumps at Uttoxeter and on the Flat at Lingfield.
