Sariska ensured that punters enjoyed the big race spoils on day one of Epsom with her hard-fought victory in The Oaks, according to Ladbrokes.

The Michael-Bell trained favourite held off Midday in a photo finish to swing the multi-million pound pendulum in favour of the public. And the bookies are reeling on the eve of the Derby.

David Williams of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro this afternoon

 "We were screaming for Midday. She'd have been a decent result but Jamie Spencer and Sariska combined to send punters into wild celebration. With The Oaks going to the punters, we'll be desperate to get the favourites beaten in the Derby and will happy to leave the Downs with honours even."
