Sandown Placepot Selections – Saturday, April 28

Saturday's seven-race card at Sandown will provide a  mixture of quality jumps action and some equally attractive Flat racing on the final day of the National Hunt season.

The action begins at 130 and the going on the jumps track is ‘Good to Soft, Soft in places’, whilst the Flat track is reported ‘Heavy’.

Race 1 (Sandown 130) – It is very interesting that Nicky Henderson chooses to give Tom Du Lys his British debut on the very last day of the term and the hint should be taken. Also included in a tricky race is Chepstow runner-up Ulck Du Lin.

Race 2 (Sandown 200) – Top weight Gibb River deserves a win after some fine recent efforts and along with the hat-trick-seeking Sircozy is expected to be in the shake-up.

Race 3 (Sandown 235) – Sanctuaire looks a very exciting chasing prospect and this Grade 2 affair will tell us much more about his potential. Already proven at this grade is Somersby, who should give him most to think about.

Race 4 (Sandown 310) – Roalco de Farges, Viking Blond and West End Rocker are our three against the field in a typically competitive Bet365 Gold Cup.

Race 5 (Sandown 345) – Twice Over is turned out again quickly after going close at Newmarket  last week and is the pick on figures. Just in case the run comes too soon though, we also include the quirky but talented Colombian.

Race 6 (Sandown 415) – Stipulate and Rougemont both won well at Newmarket last week, handle underfoot conditions, and are proven fit. We take them to prove better than the other fascinating pair in a challenging Classic Trial.

Suggested Sandown Placepot perm – 2×2x2×3x2×2 = 96 bets
