John Oxx has reminded punters that the participation of Sea The Stars in any of his intended targets is completely dependent on the weather.

Speaking ahead of his dual-Classic winner’s run in the Juddmonte International Stakes at York, he has reminded excited fans that though the superstar is due to lock horns with Mastercraftsman at the Knnavesmire in one of the races of the season, the stable will remain on weather watch up until as late as possible.

"Everything is fine with him and everything is up to speed, we are obviously just waiting on the weather now to see which way it goes," Oxx explained.

"It's so far, so good with the horse and we're very happy with him."

Meanwhile, the trainer has also announced that Irish 2000 Guineas second, Rayeni, is set for a return to the track in the near future having enjoyed a short mid-season break.

The son of Indian Ridge was unbeaten in two starts as a juvenile and ran creditably behind Mastercraftsman in his only start of the season at the Curragh.

"Rayeni is coming along nicely and is in fast work at the moment, so he'll probably run at the Curragh in the second week of September," continued Oxx.

"He's in the Solonaway Stakes (September 13) which is a Group Three race over a mile, but we are just looking to get him out around that time when hopefully there is some cut in the ground.

"He hasn't had any problems since the Guineas, he just likes soft ground so we took the decision to wait until the autumn with him.

"As it turned out we had a wet July and he could have run, but he isn't a horse you would want to keep on the stretch all the time anyway."

Sea The Stars is currently as low as 1.68 (Betfair) to win his fourth Group 1 of the year in the International Stakes at York.  Mastercraftsman is 3.55 (Betfair) to lower his colours.
