(credit: TGIGreeny) Related Articles See all Racing news Share it Pin It Trainer Jamie Osborne has aborted any plans to run his stable star stayer Geordieland in the Breeders’ Cup Marathon at Santa Anita next month. The fans favourite will now be rested until next season, where the plan will be to get him back for the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in June, a race he has been successfully placed in the last three seasons. Osborne said on Thursday: "We weighed up the pros and cons and it boiled down to the costs outweighing our chances of coming back with a decent amount of cash and so I've put him away for the season." Geordieland will not have face Yeats again, something he will be more than pleased about after finishing third behind him this year and second the previous two seasons. Osborne added: "Our intention is to give him one more year with the plan to bring him back fresh for another shot at the Gold Cup in June."
