Bookies on Cloud Nine as half-time whistle blows at the Festival

Bookies were once again smiling as day two of the Cheltenham Festival went the way of the layers, according to Ladbrokes.

David Williams of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro: "All the key races once again sprang shock results. We'll be getting the St Patrick's Day drinks in for anybody who can find us. They should head to Cloud Nine because that's where we're sitting at the Festival half-time stage.

"Defeats for Punchestowns, Long Run, Master Minded and the Irish novices helped seal a wonderful day for the layers. Sanctuaire was a well backed favourite in the sixth but by then the damage had been done."
