After warming up with English St Leger hopeful, Age Of Aquarius, the two oozed class in their separate workouts at the Curragh on Sunday and both remain on course for their September 12th targets. After making history in becoming the Ascot Gold Cup winner for the fourth successive time in June, there had been talk of Yeats being aimed at races such as the King George and l’Arc. However, it is the Irish St Leger that he will target after coming home in a 1m1f blowout with stablemate Von Jawlensky, under the hands of Seamie Heffernan. Trainer Aidan O’Brien said: "Seamie was delighted with that and the plan at the moment is for Yeats to go for the Irish Field St Leger on September 12." The trainer has also targeted Age Of Aquarius at the English equivalent at Doncaster on the same day, and Johnny Murtagh was on board the three-year-old in a light workout with Moon Indigo, forcing his partner off the bridle a long way from home. "Johnny said he was very happy and the plan with him is to go for the Ladbrokes St Leger," added Aidan O'Brien. Age Of Aquarius is currently a best-priced 6/1 (SportingBet) for the Classic.
