The superstar defied an eight month absence to get the better of Solwhit in the Grade One Hatton’s Grace Hurdle last Wednesday and the bookies have been keen to dodge the former flat raider in the betting for the Cheltenham Festival. Now the six-year-old is set to make a quick reappearance in the Leopardstown Golf Centre December Festival Hurdle on December 29 and Mullins explained: "I'm looking at Leopardstown for the next run and then take it from there. "I'll get two runs into him before Cheltenham at least. He's got plenty of speed and his pedigree suggests he's got lots of stamina and he needs plenty of that to win a Champion Hurdle. A lot of two-and-a-half-mile horses win that race." Meanwhile, Mullins also had news on another one of his Cheltenham Festival runners as the trainer revealed that Quevega will once again line up in the David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle. "She's been in pre-training and came back to me the other day, so at the moment I'm just heading for March and I'll do a few bits of work with her maybe in the New Year and see what happens," he explained. "If they are good we might get a race into her before hand, if not we'll just look forward to March with her. The David Nicholson is the plan, that's the way we'll go."
