Just hours after it was confirmed that the staying champion may head for L’Arc de Triomphe in October, news broke that he was also being considered for the Betfair-backed Group 1 spectacle at Ascot. Installed at a best-price of 25/1 for l’Arc following part-owner John Magnier speculating that the race may be a distinct possibility for the eight-year-old, bookmakers will now offer prices about the horse adding the King George to his unbelievable list of career achievements. Following confirmation that Yeats had come out of his historic victory in the Ascot Gold Cup without any problems, Aidan O’Brien suggested "plenty of options" for the star stayer: "He seems to be fine since Ascot and nothing has been decided for Yeats yet, but the King George, Goodwood Cup, Irish St Leger and the Arc and Cadran are all open for him."
