Nicky Henderson’s eight-year-old has caught the eye since stepping up in trip and was particularly impressive last time out at Cheltenham when he took a Grade 3 handicap chase. The Giant Bolster is the 7/1 second-favourite with Betfred with both Bold Ransom and Consigliere next in the market at 8/1. “Shakalakaboomboom is certainly still very much unexposed at staying trips and a trip to Aintree will certainly be on the cards if he can justify favouritism at Haydock on Saturday,” Betfred spokesman George Primarolo explained to Bettingpro. Finian’s Rainbow and Al Ferof feature amongst eight horses that have been left in the Victor Chandler Chase at Ascot on Saturday and the former has been cut to 7/4 (from 2/1) by Betfred at the head of the market. Al Ferof is next at 11/4 with Somersby a 6/1 shot. Finian’s Rainbow has also been cut to 11/2 (from 6/1) by Betfred for the Queen Mother Champion Chase whilst Wishfull Thinking has also been nibbled into 16/1 (from 20/1) for the same race.
