Champion trainer Richard Hannon is considering running Dubawi Gold in the 2012 Dubai World Cup at Meydan.

We know that Dubawi Gold is very good over a mile, but every one here is adamant that it would be no problem stepping him up to 10 furlongs.Richard Hannon

Already the yard is reporting that the young horses are starting their education, but it's a stable star - Dubawi Gold - on which attention is focused right now.

So pleased was Hannon with his fast finishing fourth from the outside draw in the Hong Kong Mile that the dual Guineas winner has a date firmly 'penned in' for the Meydan Carnival on 10th March.

Said the trainer: "We know that Dubawi Gold is very good over a mile, but every one here is adamant that it would be no problem stepping him up to 10 furlongs. Having won on the Lingfield polytrack. it would be tempting having a look at the World Cup itself.

"Dubawi Gold is so tough and very laid back and he never turned a hair when he got back from Hong Kong. He has to stay 30 days before he can head off on his travels again but we could send him to Dubai at the end of January or early February.

"That would give him ample time to get used to the Meydan surface and the plan would be to run him on Super Saturday (10th March) which would help us make up our minds whether to aim for the stars and go for the big one, stick to what he knows best and keep him on grass for the nine furlong Dubai Duty Free, or go for the Godolphin Mile - which is also on dirt."
