Don't Panic slashed for Lincoln Handicap

- 18 Mar 2009

There has been a major gamble on Don't Panic for the Lincoln, with bookmaker Coral reporting big liabilities on the Peter Chapple-Hyam trained 4-y-o and his price is now 16-1 having been 25-1 earlier in the day.

"We laid 25-1 as soon as the offices opened this morning and were forced to cut the horse to 20-1, then went 16-1 shortly after as the interest continued," said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.

Coral also reported plenty of interest in My Will for the Grand National, now 10-1 from 12-1. "Rumours that Ruby will be riding have certainly helped the liability grow," added Burton

Looking further ahead, Denman has been cut to 4-1 (from 5-1) for the 2010 Gold Cup by Corals, this following the disappointing news that Neptune Collonges has sustained an injury and will be out of action for a year. The popular grey had been  20-1 with the Barking firm but was removed from the list.
