Coral-Eclipse flop Dar Re Mi has returned home and connections are confident their star mare will be back to her best for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Dar Re Mi can be supported at odds of 10/1 to win the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes, a race in which expectations are also high for Workforce (1/1), Harbinger (3/1), Cape Blanco (5/1) and Sariska (6/1). Non-runner from Saturday's race Mawatheeq will also return at Ascot, and can be backed at 33/1.

John Gosden's charge, owned by Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber, raced in her first start since winning the Dubai Sheema Classic in March, but a lack of race fitness appeared to take its toll up the Sandown hill.

Hopes were high as she contested the early pace with eventual winner Twice Over, after which Dar Re Mi faded into fourth behind Sri Putra and Viscount Nelson. Reflecting on the performance, the team's racing manager Simon Marsh expects a better performance at Ascot on July 24.

"I've spoken to John and she's absolutely fine this morning," said Marsh.

"It wasn't a bad effort from her in the end and the race was not run to suit at all.

"They went very quick early on and that's just one of those things but it will bring her on for the King George. She should be absolutely straight for that.

"The King George has been her main target but we had to get something into her beforehand and we have done that now, so we're looking forward to Ascot."
