Blue Square have opened their market on the 29th running of the Japan Cup and have installed Conduit as their 7/4 market leader for the race.

Sir Michael Stoute’s dual Breeders’ Cup winner will be racing for the last time before retiring to stud in Japan and connections will no doubt be hoping that he can sign off in style.

The local challenge is headed by the top class mare Vodka (5/1), on what will be her final start – maybe she will get together with Conduit in the New Year?

Defending champion Screen Hero (6/1) ran a great prep in the Tenno Sho earlier in the month, finishing second to Company, and a place ahead of Vodka.

Japanese Derby winner Logi Universe (8/1) has not been seen out since his Classic success in May, but is reported in good shape by trainer Kiyoshi Hagiwara and will be partnered by the current local riding sensation Norihiro Yokoyama.

With the historic score at 14 a piece, Blue Square make the visitors (5 runners) an 11/10 chance to nudge one ahead, with the home challenge (13 runners) a 4/6 chance to take their tally to 15.
