Brian Meehan gives us the lowdown on all of his runners from Newmarket, Ascot, Newbury and Chester on Friday

Shumoos heads the betting for the Cherry Hinton at Newmarket on Friday and Brian is full or praise for his 'exciting' two-year-old ahead of the race. Read his comments on all eight Meehan runners here

Newmarket, Friday
13:50, 6f Handicap
Murbeh: He was a nice horse last year and there were signs that he was back to his best at Chester last time. The return to 6f should be in his favour and although this is always a very competitive handicap, he must have an each-way chance under these conditions.

14:25, 6f Group 2
Shumoos: We are all very excited about Shumoos in the Cherry Hinton as she looks to be ready for this first crack at 6f. She was staying on at the death in the Queen Mary and would possibly have got back up in another couple of strides. She has done everything right at home since and I will be very disappointed if she can't win here.

16:10, 1m2f Maiden
Red Eyes: He needed his reappearance effort at Windsor last month and will be sharper here but this doesn't look a bad race and he could be up against it. Handicaps will be more his thing as he gains experience.

Ascot, Friday
14:15, 6f Maiden
Gerfalcon: I run a nice newcomer here and although he will learn a good deal for the run, I would be hopeful that there will be positive reports afterwards as I like him. Poole Harbour runs and he comes from the very good Newbury maiden so I wouldn't think we would beat him first time out.

Newbury, Friday
18:20, 7f Maiden
Farleaze: I run a nice Rail Link filly here but she will need this first run and hopefully she will show enough to make her competitive next time.

19:55, 6.5f Seller
Hiding In The Open/Red Hot Penny: Red Hot Penny got stage fright on his Wolverhampton debut and was never able to get competitive after a slow start. He is better than that and hopefully this drop in class will suit. Hiding In The Open has a bit to prove but this is easier and he can do a bit better this time, or later on in nurseries.

Chester, Friday
19:10, 5f Handicap
Catfish: I want to keep her to 3yo only races now and this looked a good opportunity. Unfortunately she has been drawn 9 of 9 and that will obviously make life very difficult for her.

Best chance: Shumoos
Best each-way: Murheb
