Breeders Cup update - Strong Suit and Sea Moon eased Visit Coral Save For Later Posted by Bettingpro Staff 4 Nov 2011 Tweet Related Articles See all Ante Post news Share it Pin It Both Strong Suit and Sea Moon have been eased for their respective Breeders Cup targets by Coral after both horses missed their final turf workouts in dramatic, tense circumstances at Churchill Downs.Coral pushed out Sea Moon to 4/1 from 7/2 for the Breeders Cup Turf and Strong Suit to 9/2 from 4/1 for the Breeders Cup Mile after the Churchill Downs track superintendent refused to allow connections to work their horses on the turf track because rain had started to fall.Sir Michael Stoute (trainer of Sea Moon), Richard Hannon Junior (trainer of Strong Suit) and John Gosden (trainer of Elusive Kate) had taken their horses to the entrance to the turf course and were visibly angry at the decision by Churchill Downs to close the track. Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman, witnessed the stand-off, “At one stage Sir Michael Stoute, John Gosden and Richard Hannon Junior tried to lift the barrier to get their horses onto the turf course but the track supervisors and a security guard prevented them.”“The trainers, owners and jockeys on horseback all waited on the dirt track for the turf track to be opened to allow them to prepare their horses for their races. It was a tense standoff but once it was clear that the track superintendent was not going to change his mind, Sea Moon and Elusive Kate went back to their barns while Strong Suit did a slow, spin round the dirt track.” Clare added, “it clearly hasn’t helped the chances of Sea Moon and Strong Suit and we had little hesitation in pushing them both out in the betting”.Goldikova has hardened to 6/4 favourite from 7/4 for the Breeders Cup Mile with Coral as a result of continued support.“Goldikova is almost certain to go off odds-on in America and it now looks like she will be close to Even money in England too following sustained support all week”, concluded Clare.In other betting moves, Meeznah was well backed into 7-1 from 9-1 for the Breeders Cup Marathon.
