The RSA Thoroughbred Stakes is yet another Group Race at Glorious Goodwood and this year's entry for the one mile contest for three-year-olds is a high quality one as a field of 23 are left in.

The Jersey Stakes third Aljamaheer of Roger Varian will be fancied for this contest as that good run at Ascot was only the fourth of his career and there is surely more to come.

Mark Johnston has taken this race twice in recent seasons and had Fulbright carrying the flag for him this time. A winner at Newmarket last time Fulbright has only ever won from five to seven furlongs so this trip would represent unknown territory.

Hughie Morrison's Chil The Kite has won a couple of hot handicaps in recent weeks at Doncaster and Ascot and his trainer will have no fears about pitching him into Group Three company.

Sir Michael Stoute has taken this race before and has two potential winners in Tales Of Grimm, fifth behind Energizer at Royal Ascot, and the untapped Zumbi who has had just one outing this year showing promise at Newmarket.

Richard Hannon will surely have a say in proceedings as he does in most races at the Sussex track and has three possibles in Coupe De Ville, Rockinante, second in the Vintage Stakes as a two-year-old here last year, and the enigmatic Trumpet Major who was fourth in the 2000 Guineas but who has not run since finishing last in the Irish version.
