2012 Epsom Oaks best odds - Kissed a non-runner

Kissed is a non-runner in the 2012 Epsom Oaks (credit: Getty Images)
2012 Epsom Oaks fourth favourite Kissed has been withdrawn from the race because of the ground.

Trainer Aidan O’Brien made the decision to pull out the unbeaten filly, the intended mount of former champion Ryan Moore, as he thinks the going is too firm.

Maybe and The Fugue, third and fourth in the 1,000 Guineas, are the leading contenders for the 2012 Investec Epsom Oaks.

The Fugue is winning the battle to be favourite with the bookmakers and is 11/4 with Blue Square after the withdrawal of Kissed, which has reduced O’Brien’s team of runners to five.

Maybe is another of the O’Brien quintet and will be ridden by his son Joseph, who also partners 2012 Epsom Derby favourite Camelot.

Two fillies unbeaten in two starts take their chance in what looks a strong Oaks line-up with Kailani and Vow having won both their outings to date.

Declared runners and riders for the 2012 Epsom Oaks with best odds:

  1 Betterbetterbetter (Colm O’Donoghue) – 33/1 at Stan James
2 Colima (Jim Crowley) – 20/1 at Boylesports
3 Coquet (Rab Havlin) – 25/1 at Boylesports
  4 Devotion (Richard Hughes) – 50/1 at Bet365
5 Kailani (Mickael Barzalona) – 10/1 at Sportingbet
  6 Kissed – non-runner
  7 Maybe (Joseph O’Brien) – 7/2 at Coral
8 Nayarra (Martin Dwyer) – 100/1 at Paddy Power
9 Shirocco Star (Darryll Holland) – 16/1 at Paddy Power
10 The Fugue (William Buick) – 11/4 at Blue Square
11 Toptempo – Non-runner
12 Twirl (Pat Smullen) – 33/1 at Bet365
13 Vow (Johnny Murtagh) – 9/2 at Paddy Power
14 Was (Seamie Heffernan) – 20/1 at Bet365
