Europe are the 4-6 favourites with
Coral bookmakers to win back the Mosconi Cup that they lost last year in Las Vegas. The defending champions, USA, are 11-10.
The event takes place at the famous York Hall in Bethnal Green, better known for boxing, from the 9-12 December, and Europe will be hoping to regain the cup they won in 2007 and 2008.
"Although the team numbers have been reduced this year, the rivalry between the two remains, and like the Ryder Cup, both teams will be desperate to avoid defeat," Coral spokesman Gary Burton told Bettingpro.
Europes Mika Immonen is the 3-1 favourite to be the top points scorer in the
competition, while the USA are 12-1 to repeat the 11-7 winning scoreline
from last year.
