Ainsworth said in an interview: "I think the electorate will rue the day if they wind up with a Conservative government in charge of this country after the 6th of May." Hills are also giving odds of 7/2 that the election is held on any day other than May 6th. The firm’s spokesman Graham Sharpe told bettingpro: "Unless this was a very cunning double bluff, Mr Ainsworth appears to have given the game away and although we aeady had May 6 as a warm favourite to be the date of the Election we now make it hot favourite," Labour are 10/1 to win the election, with the Conservatives 2/5 favourites.
