Peter Robinson odds on to step down as DUP leader Visit William Hill Save For Later Posted by Bettingpro Staff 7 May 2010 Tweet Related Articles See all Irish Political Betting news Share it Pin It Robinson 1-5 To Step Down As DUP Leader Before The End Of 2010 – Nigel Dodd Odds-On To Replace Him William Hill have cut the odds of Peter Robinson standing down as DUP leader before the end of 2010 from 4-9 to 1-5 after he lost his seat in East Belfast to the Alliance party’s Naomi Long. Robinson, who came under intense pressure to step down following the scandal involving his wife Iris, has said that he will not resign as the party leader. Bookmakers and punters are not in tune with Mr Robinson’s comments, and they both believe that his time as DUP leader will come to an end - sooner rather than later. William Hill have also opened betting on who will succeed Robinson as leader of the DUP. The bookies make Nigel Dodds, who retained his seat in North Belfast, their 4-7 favourite to get the job. William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny told Bettingpro this afternoon “Nobody seems to be convinced about Mr Robinson’s long term future as leader of the DUP.” He continued “Punters across Northern Ireland are backing him to leave before the end 2010, and it’s hard to see how he’ll last the distance.” William Hill - Northern Irish Political Odds Peter Robinson to be DUP leader on the 31st December 2010: 1-5 No, 3-1 Yes Next DUP Leader: (William Hill bet) 4-7 Nigel Dodds, 3-1 Arlene Foster, 9-1 Gregory Campbell, 10-1 Jeffrey Donaldson, Willie McCrea, 14-1 David Simpson, 16-1 Edwin Poots Sammy Wilson, 20-1 Robin Newton, 25-1 Nelson McCausland, 33-1 Jim Shannon, 10000/1 Iris Robinson – Others on request Read our William Hill review Get your £25 free bet at William Hill now Like Like Post to wall 280 Reads All Political Betting News Recent Political Betting Articles Ireland to ditch the Euro?07 Dec 2011Ireland could be forced to the polls in 2012 to hold a referendum about ditching the Euro and it is Irish General Election betting - Fianna Fail now joint favourites06 Dec 2011Fianna Fail have gained support after an unpopular budget from Fine Gael Minister for Finance Micha Irish Government 2/1 to push legal age of drinking to 2124 Nov 2011Paddy Power have opened betting on whether or not the Irish Government will bring in new legislatio Michael D Higgins 5/2 to make South Africa the First State Visit01 Nov 2011Michael D Higgins is the new Irish President and he looks set to visit either South Africa, Britain Next Irish President - bookies pay out!28 Oct 2011Bookies Paddy Power this evening paid out over €350,000 to punters who backed Michael D Higgins to Irish government to sell Aer Lingus to Etihad Airways?17 Oct 2011The Irish government's shares in Aer Lingus look set to be the first state asset to be sold to furn More Stories Recent Articles Jiangsu Shuntian v Qingdao Zhongneng live stream preview26 May 2012Jiangsu Shuntian should have no real problems in picking up three more Chinese Super League points French Open Betting Latest – Nadal and Serena fancied for Roland Garros glory26 May 2012Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams head the betting going into the 2012 French Open, which gets under Eurovision Song Contest Betting - Punters pile into Humperdinck26 May 2012William Hill have seen a real gamble on Engelbert Humperdinck winning the Eurovision Song Contest.
