McCain odds slashed from 7/1 to 5/1

In the last twenty four hours bookmakers William Hill have slashed the price of John McCain winning the US Presidential election from 7/1 to 5/1 with Barack now 1/9 from 1/16. Hills odds suggest that the 2008 Presidential Election will have the highest turnout since 18 year olds given the vote in 1972, offering 1/2 that over 60% vote and 6/4 that less than 60% vote.

"For months all the momentum has been for Barack, but McCain is sniffing an upset," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
