London Mayoral Election - will Red Ken be back in 2012? Visit Ladbrokes Save For Later Posted by Bettingpro Staff 7 Sep 2010 Tweet Related Articles See all London Mayor news Share it Pin It Ken Livingstone is gaining ground on Boris Johnson to win London's Mayoral election in 2012, according to Ladbrokes. With Boris seemingly unable to prevent Tube workers from striking later today, he has dropped from Evens to 11/10, whilst former Mayor Ken has seen his recent campaign activity pay off as he moves from 11/8 to 5/4. Last week Boris Johnson's odds took a hit as it was suggested he may not even stand for re-election, and other potential candidates were thrown into the mix including his deputy Kit Malthouse (20/1) and London Olympics Chair Sebastian Coe (66/1). Labour's other potential candidate Oona King is still lagging behind Livingstone at 8/1. This is the largest price that the bookies have offered on Johnson since he was elected in 2008. Richard Royal of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro: "Things appear to be getting a little rocky for Boris as he seems uncharacteristically uncertain over his own future and apparently unable to prevent the impending tube strike. In contrast, Ken appears to be on the front foot and gaining in confidence."
