Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power told Bettingpro: “The current Government faces a tough task trying to stay in people’s good books while being the bearers of bad news. As the old saying says ‘a week is a long time in politics’ and with fifty-two of them in the year I guess our punters feel a lot could happen down the line!” Paddy Power are also betting on who will introduce the last budget of this Dáil. Minister Noonan is the 6/4 favourite followed by Brendan Howlin and Richard Bruton both at 5/2.But it wasn’t all doom and gloom today. Those punters who had a flutter on the Minister for Finance donning a yellow tie at 16/1 had plenty to smile about.
