As the countdown to the most anticipated budget in the history of the Ireland continues, William Hill have opened betting on what might happen during Brian Lenihan’s speech.
William Hill have created over a dozen Irish budget markets including the length of the speech, what Brian Lenihan might say during the speech, the colour of Brian Lenihan’s tie, a TD to be removed from the Dail during the speech and will the Minister for Finance increase tax on cigarettes.
William Hill are also offering odds of 11/4 for Brian Cowen to leave his post before the end of 2010.
‘Everyone is going to get hit by this budget,’ said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny ‘so we’re giving Irish punters the chance to make some money on what is certain to be a very grim budget speech.’
