General Election Date betting - May 6th now likely

- 10 Mar 2010

After the budget was confirmed for March 24, William Hill slashed their odds for a May 6 General Election from 1/6 to 1/20 - lengthening their odds for any other date from 7/2 to 8/1.

'It is difficult now to make a case for an Election on any date other than May 6' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Hills make the Conservatives 8/13 favourites to emerge with a clear overall majority, with Labour at 8/1 to do likewise, while Hills offer 6/4 about a Hung Parliament.
