David Cameron to quit gamble intensifies as Rebekah Brooks prepares to say "sorry"

David Cameron is now 6/1 to quit the Cabinet
Bookmakers have been flooded with bets on the Prime Minister being the next member of the Cabinet to leave his post as the News International scandal continues.

Ladbrokes have had to slash the odds him of being the next MP to leave Cabinet to 6/1 overnight - making him the joint second favourite minister to leave Cabinet next. Only Chris Huhne appears to have more chance of leaving before him at 2/1 and it's 3/1 that Cameron isn't around at the next General Election (1/5 he is).

There's also been a shake up in the next Metropolitan Police Commissioner market as Bernard Hogan-Howe is backed for the job (now 3/1 joint favourite).

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro:

"It's one way traffic for Cameron. The money has spoken and his price of leaving his shortening by the hour."

he added: "Hogan-Howe is all the rage in the Met chief market."
