Ealing Southall Byelection: The Liberal Democrats have been backed to win both of next week's by-elections with William Hill, who have slashed their odds from 5/1 to 3/1 to win the Ealing-Southall by-election; and from 33/1 to 16/1 to win in Sedgefield: 'The Lib Dems traditionally fare well in by-elections and as ninety per cent of the money we have taken for these two is being placed on that Party there is clearly an expectation that Sir Menzies Campbell's leadership could be in for a boost next Thursday' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Willhill by-eelection odds: Ealing-Southall: 4/5 Labour (were 8/13); 2/1 Conservatives (were 15/8); 3/1 Lib Dems (were 5/1).

Sedgefield: 1/100 Labour (were 1/200); 16/1 Lib Dems (were 33/1); 25/1 Conservatives.

Labour % of Vote at Sedgefield: 0-58.9 - 1/2; 60.01-Or more: 9/4; 58.91- 60% - 6/1.
