Nottingham based Ruslan Vlasov has won the the first leg of the new Genting Poker Series.
The former poker dealer beat Neil Ryder after a relatively short heads up battle, when his A7 beat Neil’s J5 shove.
The first Leg, held at Genting Club Star City, Birmingham was a huge success, with 365 entries, making it one of the biggest tournaments on the UK poker scene. Whilst the prize money was guaranteed at £100,000, the eventual prize pool was a whopping £146,000. Ruslan wasn’t the only player to win this weekend, as our superb Flopped Aces promotion was hit on Day 1A, where an entire table won free Genting Poker Main Event seats courtesy of the dealer delivering an AAA flop.
Genting Club Star City was packed with the great and the good from the world of poker, including WPT winner Surinder Sunar, EPT winner Julian Thew and a host of GUKPT winners. Joe Beevers, Ross Boatman also played, as did Barny Boatman who made the final table.
