The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) is now underway, and is set to become one of the world's richest poker tours. It incorporates many firsts in the poker world, including the first major poker tournaments in South Korea, the Philippines, Macau and Sydney!

The latest addition to the APPT circuit is Macau at the end of November, which will stage two events: a $2,500 buy-in Main Event, and a $15,000 High Rollers event. Both are certain to be huge successes.

APPT Seoul was won by 25-year-old Israeli Ziv Bachar. He brought the chip lead to the final table, and was rarely threatened on his way to the $139,872 first prize. He survived a tense moment when three-handed at the final table, when his two pair held up against opponent Sid Kim’s flush draw, a 2d on the river sending Kim to the rail.

The winner of the first event in Manila was 22-year-old political science student Brett Parise, from Indiana, USA. Parise’s pair of 10s were enough to beat second place winner Ira Blumenthal when heads-up, allowing him to take down the first prize worth $179,775.
