The World Anti-Doping Agency has confirmed over 30 athletes have been prevented from competing at the Winter Olympics for drugs offences.

No names have yet been disclosed as the culprits are dealt with by their own governing bodies ahead of the start of Vancouver 2010.

Wada chief John Fahey told reporters: “It is more likely athletes who seek to cheat at these Games will be caught than in any other Games in our history.

“Those that wish to take the risk are likely to be caught.

“We are getting better as time goes by through a number of methods. We’re smarter now than we were a year ago and I believe we’ll continue to improve.”

Betfred makes Germany (11/8) the favourites to top the Medal Tables with the host nation priced at 2/1.
