Bolt and Blake to begin quest for 100m glory

The battle for men’s 100m gold gets underway on Saturday, and all eyes will be on Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake at the Olympic Stadium.

After a superb first week of the Olympics, the athletics finally got underway on Friday and it is still unclear who will win a number of the events, most notably in the men’s 100m where Blake has recently overtaken fellow Jamaican Bolt (8/11 – 100m outright @ Betfred).

Despite missing out on gold at the World Championships, Bolt has still been talked up as the favourite to retain his title in London but after a string of injuries, the 25-year-old is under massive pressure to perform.

Blake (6/4 – 100m outright) was the man who won in Daegu following Bolt’s disqualification and is certainly the rising star of the sprints.

Having recently beaten his great friend at the Jamaican trial, the 22-year-old will certainly be confident going into the games and with the heats starting on Saturday, the 100m will definitely be one of the early highlights on the track.
