Radcliffe underwent foot surgery in March and returned to action with victory in the New York City Half-Marathon on Sunday. However arriving in Berlin ready to race, Radcliffe admitted she was not full prepared to compete over a full marathon just yet. "I am devastated I wasn't ready in time, especially having got so close," said Radcliffe. Radcliffe won gold in the marathon at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki but she will now have to wait at least another two years to attempt to reclaim her title.
