Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins eyes Gold Medal

Cycling has never been more popular and Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins will be looking to take advantage of his popularity by winning Gold at the London Olympics.

Wiggins, who shocked the world by becoming the first British rider to win the Tour de France, has already taken part in the Men’s Road Race last Saturday and did not finish in the medals, but he does have another chance in the Individual Time Trial on Wednesday, August 1.

His Team GB partner Mark Cavendish, who was the only male cyclist not to win a medal at the Olympics in Beijing 2008, once again failed to get on the podium in the Road Race and will not have another opportunity to win one.

As well as the Road events, their will be plenty of Track races with Sir Chris Hoy looking to steer Britain to glory when he takes part in the Men’s Sprint, Keirin and Team Sprint.
