Mo Farah ran a brilliant 5000m to win at the 2011 World Championships and will now focus on gold at the 2012 Olympics

Mo Farah is 13/8 with online betting company Sky Bet to win the 5000m at the London 2012 Olympics after storming to his first gold medal in the same event at the Daegu 2011 IAAF World Championships.

Farah bounced back from disappointment in the 10000m, where he was edged into second by eventual winner Ibrahim Jeilan, to finish clear of nearest rival Bernard Lagat.

The Somalia-born star is 11/8 to avenge this loss in the 10000m in the capital next year, and Sky Bet's athletics trader Ben Wright believes he could be the man to watch next year.

He told Bettingpro: "Farah has come on leaps and bounds since winning the European title last year in Barcelona.

"He was the favourite for both the 5000m and 10000m in Daegu and could be one of Britain's biggest medal hopes in 2012."

Elsewhere, Phillips Idowu has moved out to 9/2 (from 4/1) to win gold in the triple jump after narrowly losing out to American Christian Taylor.

The reigning World Champion looked set to retain his title after his jump of 17.77m, but Taylor responded with a personal best of 17.96m to snatch the gold medal.

Wright added: "Idowu will be disappointed to have missed out, but young Taylor looks like a force to be reckoned with.

"At just 21 the American can still improve and the pair could be set for a real battle at the Olympics in London."
