Italy v Japan Women's Olympic Volleyball Preview

Italy and Japan are hoping to continue their winning ways in the London Olympics women's volleyball tournament on Monday. 

The Italians started their Pool A campaign with a 25–17 23–25 25–19 25–15 win over the Dominican Republic.

Simona Gioli led the way with 19 points while Valentina Arrighetti and Carolina Costagrande added 16 each. 

Japan, meanwhile, needed only three sets to dispose of Algeria in its first fixture. Saori Kimura topscored with 15 points while Saori Sakoda added 10 to lead the two-time Olympic champions to a 25-15 25-14 25-7 win over the African champions in just 57 minutes.
