The men’s 100m is the main event on the second day of competition at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday, with Usain Bolt the star attraction.
Coral make the Jamaican the odds-on 8-11 favourite to repeat his win of four years ago, but the defending champion faces tough opposition from team mate and training partner, Yohan Blake.
Blake, who win the Jamaican Trials, is the 7-4 second favourite, with Americans Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin next in the betting at 14 and 20-1 respectively, while another Jamaican, Asafa Powell, is 28-1.
Bolt is 5-4 with Coral to win the 100m and then go on and add the 200m, while Blake is 9-2 to achieve the same feat.
Coral spokesman Gary Burton told Bettingpro: “It’s the clash everyone has been waiting for, and despite his losses to Blake in the Jamaican trials, Usain Bolt is the most popular result for our clients, only Jessica Ennis has attracted more individual bets.”
Coral also offer a number of related specials, with a new world record and under 9.50 seconds proving most popular, particularly with the track looking a fast one.
“Following Jessica Ennis’s super fast run in the first race on the new track, punters were straight on to us wanting to bet a world record in the 100m final,” added Burton.
