Baltacha eyes Ivanovic upset at Olympics

British Olympian Elena Baltacha is determined to make the most of what could be her final appearance at a major tennis competition.

Baltacha faces surgery on both feet at the end of the London Olympics and admits that she may be forced to walk away from tennis when she recovers.

However, Baltacha refuses to focus on her problematic future for the time being, with a second-round singles clash with Ana Ivanovic scheduled for Monday.

"It's an amazing opportunity for me," Baltacha said. "I have absolutely nothing to lose. She's the one that is meant to be beating me.

"It's a great match to go into because there's no pressure on me. That way you can really relax and really go for it.

"When Ana is playing at her best, she's a very good player. If she is not playing well, there's a lot of weaknesses.

"One, it depends which Ana turns up. Two, I'm going to be fighting. I'll really swing for it and see what kind of damage I can cause her."

Baltacha is 7/2 with bet365 to reach round three, with Ivanovic 2/11 to end the Briton's dreams.

Meanwhile, there were first-round exits for men's doubles pairings Andy and Jamie Murray and Ross Hutchins and Colin Fleming, as well as Laura Robson and Heather Watson in the women's doubles.
