The State of Origin Decider between New South Wales and Queensland takes place on Wednesday, with both teams desperate to win for different reasons.
LATEST SCORE: Queensland 16, New South Wales 0
Queensland will be chasing their sixth consecutive State of Origin Series win in Brisbane next Wednesday while the New South Wales Blues will be hoping to halt that run with their first Series win since 2005.
State of Origin is one of the most entertaining, intense and brutal series of matches played around the world and the action gets underway in May.
Queensland have dominated the past five years and now have their eyes set on a sixth consecutive title and the odds may well be in their favour with two of three games actually taking place in Brisbane.
The 2011 Harvey Norman State of Origin series is level at the moment with Queensland taking the first game 16-12, before the Blues took Game 2 18-8 in Sydney.
Blues coach Ricky Stuart has opted to name a 20-man squad ahead of the game and has handed first time call-ups to Glenn Stewart and Keith Galloway, while Brett Morris and Michael Jennings are recalled following injuries.
Jennings is still carrying a bit of a knock, while St George Illawarra duo Ben Creagh and Jamie Soward picked up knocks on Monday night and so did Manly Sea Eagles forward Glenn Stewart and all of them will be monitored ahead of the Brisbane showdown.
Stuart looks certain to start with captain Paul Gallen in the front row after Trent Merrin was released by the Blues to return to club side St George Illawarra.
Queensland named their team on Tuesday with Brisbane Broncos centre Justin Hodges selected for the first time since 2009 with Dane Nielsen waiting to see if he would be selected on the bench after Hodges pulled up in training last week.
Jacob Lillyman comes onto the extended bench with Nielsen after South Sydney Rabbitohs forward Dave Taylor entered an early guilty plea after being charged with a lifting tackle at the weekend - Taylor has since been suspended for five weeks.
