St George Illawarra Dragons will be looking to see off one of their bogey teams in Canberra Raiders when the two lock horns on Monday in NRL Round 17.

The Dragons always seem to struggle when they tarvel to take on the Green Machine, but they need to put that to the back of their minds and concentrate on reaching the play-offs.

Steve Price’s Dragons are currently in 10th place with 16 points, but they have managed to grind out a couple good performances in recent weeks.

They come into this game on the back of a narrow 8-6 win over Gold Coast Titans thanks to two late penalties from Jamie Soward.

The Raiders, however, are the home team and they will be looking to gain a much needed win to keep themselves in with a slim chance of reaching the top eight.

The Green Machine are in 12th place with 14 points and come into this game on the back of a crushing 40-18 defeat at the hands of North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville.

Raiders coach David Furner has promoted Dane Tilse to start at prop this week for Dave Shillington, with Bronson Harrison, Mark Nicholls and Joe Picker the new faces on their bench.

The Dragons will be without key players Ben Creagh, Trent Merrin, Beau Scott and Brett Morris due State of Origin, while Michael Weyman is still out through injury.

The Dragons have been installed as the favourites to win this match and can be backed at $1.55, while the Raiders are on offer at 2.50.

Canberra have been handed a 4.5 head start on the line handicap market and is available at 1.96, while the Dragons -4.5 are on offer at 1.88.
